University (Pharmacy)interviews

I have applied for PHARMACY in Uni of Reading, Nottingham, Hertfordshire,Keele University and Aston University .

Currently, I have an upcoming interview from Hertfordshire.

I wanted to know like what kind of questions I will be expecting ( for all) but now particularly Herts.

Also which ones are the best for Pharmacy. My predicted grades are not so great though 🥲.
Help, I don't wanna choose a Uni and regret.

I want good night life, greenery, good mental health support, less stress typa but also more placements n links

Hello,

I am currently studying at the university of Sunderland and can offer you general advice on what to expect.

You should review the GPHC professional
Pharmacist standard and align yourself with them. This will help give you an idea of what it is to be a pharmacist professional.

You probably will be asked why you want to do pharmacy, so reflect on this and also do some research on the careers available within pharmacy and what you might want to do.

You may be asked to do a numeracy question. There are examples available online that you can practice.

Good luck!

Hey! Firstly congrats in getting through to the interview stage! You’ve already done v well so well done!
I’ve already got 2 offers( not specifically from any of the listed unis )but I think I can generalise a little bit.

Firstly don’t be nervous!
Know your why Pharmacy, maybe they’ll ask you why pharmacy and not nursing/ medicine etc..
Also think about the pharmacy role and how it's changing (eg. Independent prescribing)
Know your Gphc standards and how you have shown these attributes through school or outside of school etc..
use STAR method for sjt there’s a lot out there for practice !
Some unis do a numeracy test ( unis will let you know and tell you if prep is needed) but it’s nothing to worry about
Lastly be confident! If you speak as your authentic self I’m sure you will be fine!
Good luck 🌟

Hey @Kingbella1 ,

It is great to hear that you are considering Reading to study Pharmacy!🙂

In terms of the interview questions, you can find all of the information such as preparing, sections of the interview, types of questions etc here! This is a great resource to get prepared, and if you do have any specific questions about your interview you can get in touch with: [email protected]. 🙂

You can also use the 'chat to our students' feature which includes Pharmacy students discussing interview tips! This can be found here !

In terms of the student life here at Reading, we have a very green campus with a lake! This is great for walking etc and makes it enjoyable travelling around the campus! We also do have great nightlife, with lots of ways to get involved with the uni! You can browse our clubs and societies here!

Best of luck with your interview!
Millie 🙂

Thank you very much.
I am assuming you do Pharmacy. How is it in Sunderland?

Also I was wondering if you know any websites for the numeracy questions?

THANK YOU SO MUCH 😊

I'm just a little worried that I'd waffle and repeat myself.

So if they were to ask what's changing, what would be your ideal response?

Hi,

To prepare for any pharmacy school interview, I’d recommend reviewing why you want to study the course, why that university, GPhC standards, situational judgement / ethical scenarios and basic pharmaceutical calculations.

If you can, I’d recommend attending applicant days and asking current students for more information to help you make informed decisions.

Hope this helps,

Ofccc no worries!
Don't worry I'm sure you will be fine

I mean the role is becoming more clinical due to the independent prescribing aspect so it a more hands on job and what I love about pharmacy is that it's so versatile like you can go into community, hospital, academic, tech this list goes on…… its such an exciting time if I'm going to be honest

I did a keele interview they asked why pharmacy, why keele. They then also asked scenario questions, so they want you to know what your response would be to ethical situations.
