Midwifery Offers 2026

Hi guys!

I've only heard from 2/5 unis so far, but getting worried as they both offered me adult nursing or mental health nursing as an alternative to Midwifery 🫠

I understand Midwifery is such a competitive course, and they're calling out for adult nurses, but has anybody else been in the same boat?
All I've ever really wanted to do is become a Midwife, I have work experience in a baby scan/medical diagnostic imaging centre also, as well as so far receiving all distinctions on my access to he course :')

I am debating doing the adult nursing course and later doing a masters in Midwifery if my 3 other unis offer me the same or reject me, which hopefully isn't the case as I'm 20 now and I do wanna start my life soon but I just wanted to see if anybody else is in the same boat etc. 😅

Hey, just thought I could offer some advice!

Did you get any feedback from the universities? If it’s due to predicted grades, the best thing to do is to get the grades you need in your exams and either see if the course is in clearing or take a gap year and try again 🙂

Hi! I've had no interviews for midwifery, just offered adult nursing ones

Hi!

I have asked for some feedback from Lincoln, but still waiting for a reply 😅
However, Edge Hill explained it was due to a high volume of applications:smile:

But thank you! I'll definitely have a look at clearing or ucas extra if my next 3 unis come back with the same! 😁

This also happened to me with Lincoln! I had the grades they were asking for on my application and had experience but they also offered me an adult nursing alternative.
I was also rejected after interview for two of my Uni's, one stating that I didn't have enough experience in midwifery, but I am newly 18 and I am still in full time education doing my A-Levels. Finding opportunities relating to midwifery in my area and at my age is practically impossible.
