University of Sheffield Electrical and Electronic Engineering

Hello all,
I recieved my offer from Uni of Sheffield and have been wondering if anyone else has applied to a similar course at Sheffield or is currently taking one, just to get peoples thoughts on the course and university. I applied for MEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering H629, and have applied to (and gotten offers from) Southampton, Leeds and Liverpool (I did also apply to Cambridge for Engineering but that was not meant to be).
I am currently taking Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Computer Science and have done an artefact EPQ where I made a robot. I'm really looking forward to going to Sheffield, I will probably firm it once I have been around all of the offer holder days, just want to see if anyone else is in the same boat.
Hi @Not_Dane_Heart!

It's great to hear that you're considering Sheffield! It is a brilliant uni for engineering and all branches of engineering course here are really popular. The University and the city is great, so it's fantastic that you're able to make an offer holder day to explore it for yourself! I'd recommend going to relevant subject talk, as well as chatting to current Electrical and Electronic Engineering students on the open day, who can give you their perspective on the course. One of my favourite things to ask on an open day to current students was 'What made you pick the course at this Uni?' - usually they can give you a weighed honest answer of why they picked the uni - and their 'why' might end up becoming yours in the near future too!🙂 I appreciate that while I study here, I'm not an Engineering student, so I thought I'd link a feature of the Uni of Sheff website here that you might like to use that allows you to chat to a current student on the course you'd like to study. They will be more than happy to answer any course-related / student life questions you might have!😊
