I did a Chinese course in China last year and actually used GoAbroadChina to set it up. For me, it was worth it mainly because I didn’t want to deal with paperwork and school applications in Chinese.

I’m currently in Chengdu doing an intensive Chinese course in China and came through GoAbroadChina. What I liked is that they offered different cities and helped match me with a school based on my level. Classes are small and teachers only speak Chinese, which was scary at first but helped a ton. Outside class is where the real learning happens though ordering food, using delivery apps, chatting with locals.

I didn’t use a provider at first and tried organizing my own Chinese course in China it was doable but kind of a headache with visas and finding housing. A friend of mine went through GoAbroadChina in Shanghai and had a much smoother start. Language-wise, being in China is the real game changer no matter how you arrange it. My friend and I both improved a lot, but she had more time to focus on studying instead of admin stuff during the first few weeks.
