National Youth Theatre Open Auditions 2026

Hiii, I have applied to audition in February in London for the National Youth Theatre.

Is it ok if my monologue is from a published play but I added a small section of it from a different part of the same play so it would be 2 minutes long?

Also anyone who has taken part in the summer course with the National Youth Theatre what was it like?

What is the audition like especially the group work in the morning?

What do you have to do?

I don't have any answers but my son has applied for one of the audition days too so I'm keen to say what people say.

Hi, have you both now done the audition days?
I can see that we find out on 5th March whether recalled.

If so, I wonder if we do the same monologue as open audition, or prepare new one??

Hi I have but I did an open audition day.
I also think for the open audition day they just tell you whether you have been accepted I don’t think there is a recall.

In person. I misread the audition guide, I thought recalls were for everyone!
