Unless specified in the course info, you won’t need any practical equipment. I do a life sciences degree and all I really needed was my iPad (you might want a pen and paper instead) and an appropriate calculator (check which you are allowed on your course). I also think a planner is a good investment. Other than that, it depends on your preferences, for example if you think you’ll print out notes, you may want a ring binder etc.

Hi,

We're looking forward to welcoming you to NTU!

In terms of study equipment, I would agree with the commenter above; it will depend on how you work best, but a laptop and possibly a reliable scientific calculator are a must, alongside usual stationery. If you do forget anything, there's plenty of opportunity to pick it up once you're here - both on the Brackenhurst campus, in Southwell, and in the city centre if needed.

I'd also recommend looking into a good, sturdy pair of boots - as part of Zoo Biology, there's plenty of fieldwork, so having good, hardy kit can keep you protected from the elements. Otherwise, the practical equipment for any labs will be provided.

I hope this helps, let us know if you have any questions!
