Alevels or btec

I am currently doing alevel psychology history and sociology but I have realised that I want to become a neurophysiology but I was one off the grade to do science alevel I have the option to re do year 12 and do btec applied science and there is university and degree apprenticeship that accept BTEC ( the degree apprenticeships for NHS may be limited on finding a job due to the BTEC ) I am not sure if doing the BTEC will be the best decision for me but the alevels I have also put me in a situation itself

Hey, I know the answer might not exactly be what you're looking for but my recommendation would be to first check the universities and degree apprenticeships and then make up your mind on which ones you want to go to and then see if btec or alevel is a better option for you because alot of universities dont value btec like alevels e.g. UCL, KCL, & etc, meanwhile universities like city st george, lsbu, & etc are more diverse with their picking and they value btec and alevels almost equally and rather focus on the subject you're doing which in your case they may require if its btec then for you to do applied science or h&sc. Same goes for degree apprenticeships as some dont mind the type of level 3 qualification and rather focus on the subj you are doing and some just prefer alevels.

Checking your uni/deggee apprenticeship options and being clear with it will allow you to choose whether you want to do it or not more clearly.

Just a side note that if you do check the options then make sure that you atleast have 5 unis to your liking as healthcare degrees are sometimes full.

I also wanted to let you know that it is possible for you to get a good degree with BTECs as long as you're working hard and up-to-date with your coursework and exams. I'm doing 3 BTEC extended certs and I have already gotten 4 offers from universities that I applied to.
