Hii! I'm an Oxford offer holder for Archaeology and Anthropology.
Here's some stuff I've done!
1)
Research: This is vital. It helped me narrow down my interests to Forensic Anthropology. Reading articles and keeping a list of what you've read is great for future references and also using for your personal statement in Y13.
2)
Podcasts: I mainly listen to AnthroBiology on spotify, but finding any lectures/podcasts you can listen to during downtime or to take notes from is great.
3)
Books: The best starting place. I started with 'Sapiens' by Harari, but I can honestly recommend looking at Oxford/Cambridge reading lists to help expand your TBR! I'm now on "Buried" by Professor Alice Roberts, but I''d personally recommend books by Dame Sue Black also if you're interested in Forensics.
4)
Shows: Yes, even these count. There are many on BBC Iplayer or on Youtube. If your college/Sixth Form has access to Massolit, there you can find lectures too.
5)
Online Courses/MOOCS: There is limited but there are some available on Open University. If you are familiar with Unifrog, occasionally there are opportunities for online lectures to be held for History; Anthropology or Arch. Keep an eye out for them!
6)
Exeter Scholars or Pathway to Bath: Look for online courses offered by universities. These can be found through your school or through looking on unifrog or even UCAS.
Remember: You have so much time to decide and work things through. Year 12 is the best time to figure out where you want to go.
Please feel free to ask anymore questions! I'll look for some links to post here that I can find.
