Low chances for Imperial, ESAT lets you down as you said. If you do get an offer though, expect it to be very high.

hiii, got my post interview design tripos rejection from cam today, so just trying to gauge my chances for design engineering @ imperial. A*A*A* predicted in maths, physics, and DT (+ no grade yet EPQ), 999988887 at GCSE, and my ESAT lets me down w a 4 in M1 and 2.8 in M2 (3.4 avg). my reference shows I’m v technical and creative, along with v intellectually curious, and my ps does similar bits. good design work experience + electronics internships all gained by merit, small projects etc, and lots of soft skills w debate and MUN. i applied before the cam deadline but I’m still yet to hear back, is anyone in a similar position? not sure if I’m contextual for cam but I’m a young carer + possibly postcode contextual as I am for other unis but idk about imperial. thank you!!!

I wouldn’t worry, my esat avg was 4.1, and I had an interview a few weeks ago — I think it went fairly well + the esat average for design engineering home applicants was 3.7 last year. I wouldn’t lose hope!

me too on the cam, accounting and finance is so diff, do they look at ps?
