CS or Physics at uni? 🤔

I’m predicted A in Computer Studies, A in Maths, B in Physics and Chemistry. I’m choosing between computer science, physics, or a mix any advice from students at Surrey, Exeter, Queen Mary or Hull? Which would you recommend and why? 😊

Hi @Ltbetreen

It’s great to hear you’re considering your options, and that’s a strong set of predicted grades which will provide an excellent foundation for either Computer Science or Physics. You might also want to consider Royal Holloway, University of London, if you haven’t already. You can view our courses here.

Our BSc Computer Science course focuses on programming, artificial intelligence, and data science, with opportunities for industry placements. Our Physics courses cover everything from astrophysics to quantum mechanics. Our Admissions team can advise you on the entry requirements, contextual offers, and how your subject mix fits our courses. You can reach them by emailing [email protected].

If you’re still weighing up your options, we’d recommend thinking about whether you prefer the theoretical and experimental side of science or the problem-solving and creative logic of computing. You can also chat to our students to find out more about both departments on Unibuddy here.

We hope this helps. Let us know if you have any further questions 🙂

Best wishes,
