Medicine Dilemma

I have a little situation. I got ABB in my A-Levels and reapplied for medicine. I applied to 3 foundation years (Lincoln, Notts, UEA) and Leeds because I'm contextual. I got interviews from all 4 (alhamdulillah). I got an unconditional offer from Lincoln, Leeds waitlisted me. Notts and UEA said we will let you know in March. My dilemma is I was planning to resit my A Levels for all the Uni's. Now I don't have to. Do I accept Lincoln and go there, or resit and try for Leeds which is a shorter course.

im in same situation as you lol , different factors to consider here:

number of subjects you are resitting: you gotta realise you got to get 2 As in both the B subjects and if you havent started, you going to be sort of rushing, so do you wanna go through that hassle, look at your position in terms of acadmeics. also i said 2 B's need to be resat because you wont be competitive when they shortlist for offers in summer if you have AAB instead of AAA

the uni: lincoln vs leeds what uni do you like more ? lincoln is small and more quiet compared to leeds

money: there will be a chance you will be paying for resits and they arent cheap and if you havent done that now - you will be paying late fees im sure + you need to consider living in lincoln for 6 years (costs in terms of accom and living costs) compare that to leeds.

also a major thing is that you are waitlisted, nothing says youre garaunteed an offer ifygm so its hard to really make a decision

The late deadline for resits isnt yet and it is so doable to improve 2 grades especially with practise last year. Think about the 9k in fees you would pay for foundation year but it would bd like 650 to get those exams so leeds is totally doable. As for which you should pick, it should be on preference. Leeds is bigger, better in terms of study, more central to uk so prolly closer to you and a Russel group. I wouldnt miss the chance to go their but also your other two unis. Dont be lazy over 600 pounds to go to your preffered/dream uni or you'll regret it. You mentioned the shorter course so if time and money is what u wanna save put the effort in and go for it

Yeah, I only missed A's last time by a few marks and I got remarks but they didn't change so I know I can get better. The waitlistimg thing really put a spanner in the works.

Yeah, if it was a question of resit or not without the money involved, I would resit.

I made the decision last year to resit a levels coming to about 1k rather than take a foundation year which would have cost 9k
