Applicaa sixth form applications

Hi, I’m a bit confused about how the Applicaa ranking system actually works for sixth form applications and was hoping someone could clarify.
Does Applicaa work like secondary school applications, where you rank your sixth forms and then, if you’re offered your top choice, all the lower ranked schools automatically drop off and you don’t receive offers from them?
Some people I know have said they’ve received multiple offers, which is confusing me.
