Medicine Uncertainty

I'm a Yr13 student who's applied for 2026 entry to Biomed for all five choices but now I'm starting to have second thoughts about going into Medicine and I'm starting to wish I had done that in the first place. Should I take a gap year, or try to transfer while in biomed, or try GEM? All of my options seem to be risky and I feel like I've already ruined my chances a bit.

You haven't ruined your chances.
There are plenty of options. Just remember that you are very young and there is plenty of time.
You could hold the offers and make a choice for biomed.
Then, if you get AAA minimum, you could decline them, take a gap year and apply for medicine. (NB for this option you need to practise the UCAT and book a test over the summer). Put your fave biomed place as number 5.
If you get into medicine great, if not accept your biomed place, do the degree and if you are still interested then apply for GEM.
In your gap year, get a job as a carer in a care home. If you end up doing GEM this will be excellent experience (and some GE unis require you to have Work ex).
You REALLY haven't ruined your chances.

Take a gap year. You won’t regret waiting a year but you will regret going into a degree you don’t like. Focus on your UCAT to up your chances of getting in as well.
