EDIT:
Will say being a BMS is not considered a "high salary" job, it's a very average salaried job (you'll earn the same as a nurse) after a few years experience (you'll earn more working nights and weekends obviously) but if you become a specialist BMS, that's when you earn above an average salary but getting the portfolio done (the registration is what I have nearly finished) is an absolute nightmare...
Having a BMS degree does not make you a biomedical scientist as you have to take the IBMS portfolio to become a member of the HCPC (there are other alternatives but this is effectively the most direct method for home students) as the portfolio shows you know the legal, ethical and knowledge side of BMS.
