BSc Paramedic Science

I have a degree in psychology and looking to do a paramedic science degree. I currently work for the ambulance service.

Is paramedic science on the list of course hat are able to be funded with a second student loan?

Hi there. Do you know if you would be entitled to funding from the Ambulance Service Trust for the new course? Could you confirm the full name of the course and university you are looking to study at? Thanks, Leah.

BSc Paramedic Science - University of Brighton.
From what I understand, the trust won't fund the course unless it's through the apprenticeship route, which requires you to complete a certain amount of time as a Trainee Associate Ambulance Practitioner, which the trust has now stopped recruiting for, for the foreseeable future.

Hi there,

Paramedic Science courses are only classed as an exception if the student is entitled to funding from the Ambulance Service Trust. If you are not entitled to this and already hold an equal level qualification then you would not be eligible for the Tuition Fee Loan or Maintenance Loan.

Thanks, Drew

Hi,

Are you able to explain more about the trust's funding eligibility? Does this mean through the apprenticeship route?

Hi elliot1391,

You would only be eligible if you receive funding from the Ambulance Service Trust. You would need to look into your eligibility for that first, the financial department at the university may be able to direct you to the correct team who would help you with this.

Thanks, Clare
