Go to the societies fair so that you can see all of the societies that are on offer and talk to the people who run and are part of the societies to see what they say.
•
Join the society for your course as this will often be free/inexpensive and it will be good to get to know the people on your course and will also be good to put on your CV.
•
If there is more than one society that you like the sound of then join them! You can join more than one but try not to join too many at once as it can get a bit overwhelming.
•
Go in with an open mind and if you don't like it on the first go, still go at least one more time to give it another chance to see if you like it.
