Ask me anything about GCSEs (straight 9s at GCSE)

Last year I achieved straight 9s at GCSEs
I took:
- English language + literature (Igcse Edexcel)
- Maths (Igcse Edexcel)
- chemistry (Igcse Edexcel)
- biology (Igcse Edexcel)
- physics (Igcse Edexcel)
- history (Igcse Edexcel)
- geography (Gcse AQA)
- drama (GCSE Edexcel)

Ask me anything questions you might have and I’ll respond to the best of my ability.

Hi, I do GCSE Drama, but AQA, this is a vague question, but do you have any general advice for the subject? (I'm in Year 10)

Let me just say this: Brilliant.💯
I also take AQA GCSE Geography and perform quite poorly. Do you have any resources and revision tips you used? Also what texts did you do in literature? Can you also list any other resources you used for your other subjects (I don't do drama and history). 🥺
I am in Y11 and not yet achieving my target grades.

For my exam board we had to do a write up after our devised performance as coursework. The big thing id say if you also have that is work your socks off and take it seriously when writing that. Go to your teachers for help and actively ask how you can improve it to put you in the best stead for your exams. And for the actual exams do as many past papers you can and make essay plans for long form answers so you dont waste your time but still have an idea of what you would say. Also, at least for my exam board, timings are quite tight so make sure you have done some timed practises in exam conditions yourself and figure out how much time to spend on each question.

Okay so for Geo it was flash card central for me. What you should do is find the specification. And use the resources your school has given you and textbooks to make flashcards on every single specification point. For 8 markers make a flashcard with a heading and one or two bullet points that can stimulate your memory of key facts to recall and put in. There are lots of YT videos you can watch on how to structure your 8 markers so take a look at those and keep practising. Do practise 8 markers and send them to your teachers and ask them to mark them. For English lit i did Of Mice and Men in the exam. In coursework i did Macbeth and inspector calls. For sciences do as many past papers as you can. Savemyexams.com is amazing for all your revision. For maths its also just constant practise so find past papers and keep practising until its easy.

Resources i used was genuinely mainly save my exams. It’s really really good and has a lot of exam boards. YouTube is a great place to find tips and help. The resources your school give you and textbooks are also really good and tailored to what you actually need to know.
