Gold crest awards

Hello, currently doing the gold crest awards however I have no idea how to format it.

Has anyone else done the gold crest awards? And if so, do you still have any drafts/copies of it I could possibly see? Thank you! Any help appreciated.

Hello! I did a Gold CREST in S5 and the beginning of S6 (last year).

The formatting depends on what type of project you are doing. You can do an experiment, a podcast, etc. So I would consider this first. If you are doing a standard literature review type of report, then you can split it into sections that are most relevant to your topic, for example me and my friends were doing AI in Medicine so we had different sections for AI in Research and AI in Clinical Contexts, and then within that specific topics so like AlphaFold, Protein Folding Problem, etc. etc. Then the obvious bibliography, contents, formatting stuff.

You should have a section (or a separate document if you chose to do a different format) explaining your process, timeliness, difficulties faced, aims, methods, etc. I would recommend going on the CREST website as they have detailed guidance for how to meet all the criteria. I referred to them quite closely when writing the planning/reflections part and this effects whether you will get the award a lot as well.

There is also a webinar that happens every so often where candidates can get more information on CREST awards, keep an eye out for that it can be useful to ask questions, etc.

Let me know if you have any other questions x

Hello! I'm also doing my CREST project on a topic linked with medicine followed with an experimental procedure. Quick question - do you have a link to the webinar?

Thank you for the response, much appreciated. 🙂
