Hi @jackky1,

It’s great to hear that you have aspirations to study Law, potentially at Edge Hill!

Having lower GCSE grades does not automatically prevent you from going to university, especially when you have strong, more recent qualifications. You still have a good set of GCSEs, and your A-level grades will be used as the main indicator of your current academic ability.

Your predicted A-level grades show strong academic potential, so I’d encourage you to focus on writing a strong personal statement to support your application. Showing a clear interest in Law and reflecting on your academic journey can really make a difference.

I hope this helps! If you have any specific concerns, you can always reach out to the university admissions team for tailored advice.

Heyy @jackky1,

As someone who’s currently studying Law at Lancaster University, I’m really glad to hear you’re interested in studying Law!

I didn’t have strong GCSEs either, mine ranged from 6s to 9s. For most universities including Lancaster, your A-level predictions and performance are far more important than GCSEs so I wouldn’t worry too much!

As long as you meet the basic GCSE requirements (usually English Language and Maths), lower GCSEs on their own won’t hold you back.

If you have any more questions about applying for Law or studying at Lancaster, feel free to ask 😊

Most universities will really only care about your GCSEs in Maths and English being at the correct grade, as long as you meet their A-level entry requirements. You will do amazing (from a current law student)
