Hi,

My childcare provider said they cannot submit a request for the last week of January today, so they only submitted the first 3 weeks childcare cost of January. They said they will try it again tomorrow. Does someone know why my childcare provider cannot submit a request for last week of January. Many thanks.

Hi Leah,

The nursery successfully requested it yesterday and it seems you cannot submit a request for a week at the end of that week, you can only submit it after. I am September intake and I am in year 2. I have approved all the requests yesterday but it still shows payment in progress. Do you know when the payment will go to the provider? Many thanks.

Hi, I can see these payments have gone through and paid to the childcare provider now. As the childcare provider cannot submit a request for a week at the end of that week, how do I pay the childcare cost for the last week of August as the current account is till 31st August and it will be close on 31st August and I cannot use the new one (the September one) to pay for the childcare cost of last week of August. In this case it may be best for your childcare provider to contact the Childcare Grant Payment Services team directly. If they give them a call (they should have the number) they'll be able to help with this.

If they don't, they can call us on 0300 100 0607 and we'll transfer them through.

Hi, my childcare grant is under reviewed as my circumstance has changed, SLC asked me to provide UC statement or child benefit award notice but it looks like UC statement will come first, so I am going to provide UC statement. However, will SLC calculate my entitlement based on the income in the UC statement? Because I have a part time job which I either work weekends or nights, and I think this shouldn't count as income for SLC while calculating my childcare grant entitlement, can you confirm this please? Many thanks.

Hi Katherine-O, Unfortunately we will need to await the update from the assessment team before we can confirm if this will have any impact on your entitlement. However earnings from employment is a taxable income. Stephen

But from the SLC website, it said part time job from weekends or nights doesn't count as household income and we don't need to report it to SLC when we make an application, as it doesn't count as household income, is that right?

Yes, normally we don't take into account your own earned income. It sounds like the assessment team need to see proof that you're not in receipt of alternative childcare support. So, once you get your UC statement please upload it to your account and the team will check it as soon as they can.
