Marketing Degree

Which marketing degree is most employable? Liverpool, York, Nottingham Trent, Loughborough or Leeds ? Anyone on any of these courses ? Not sure if Russell group matters or more practical Notts Trent course better for employers?

Hi @JoanneGW,

It's great to hear you're considering studying at NTU!

I think you're right to be focusing on employability as you compare courses. It's not always easy to draw direct comparisons between universities, as there's so many different metrics you could consider. One thing I would definitely recommend looking out for though is placement and industry experience opportunities. These don't necessarily need to be tied to a specific university, as many workplaces may offer these independently, but being able to make a direct case for previous experience in industry can make a world of difference, especially in competitive fields. Your applications will be more than just your degree, so it's important to ensure you have plenty else to show, including extra curriculars and wider experience.

Moreover, I would look into student academic support and teaching quality, as well as thinking about the type of learning that works best for you - ultimately, looking at where is most likely to help you succeed. This will vary from person to person, so it can be helpful to have conversations with teachers or people you've worked with in the past about what they think.

I'd definitely recommend visiting the universities you're considering too - if nothing else as a further opportunity to talk directly with current students and staff about their experience. Our next open day at NTU is Saturday 7th March if you wanted to visit!

I hope this helps, if you have any questions for us, let us know!
