Economics and German at Warwick

Has anyone else got an offer from Warwick for Economics and German? Or is anyone currently studying the course? I'm not sure if studying 4 years is worth it for a Bachelor's degree. Also super nervous about meeting people at uni, as someone with bad anxiety!

Hi!
I'm currently in my final year studying an economics joint-degree so happy to answer any questions you might have about the course/uni! I’m not doing Economics and German but have done many of the same core econ modules.

As for meeting people - I was in a few groupchats before uni started and initially made some friends from those, which was a nice way to have people to meet once I got to uni. Other than that, your flatmates are a great initial friend group, as the convenience of living together means you don’t really need to schedule in meeting up. I’d suggest going to some of the smaller or more chill society events (such as games nights, crafts, coffee etc) with a friend or flatmate to start meeting some people, as that might feel less overwhelming than some of the big societies or drinking socials. But definitely don’t worry about needing to find a huge friend group right from the start - I met lots of my closer friends later on even in 2nd year. Given that Warwick is a campus uni, it’s also just very easy to meet people throughout and many of my own friendships were from just randomly meeting someone or through mutual friends.

Hope that helps and let me know if you have any other questions!
Best wishes,
Jasmine (Student Ambassador)
