Engineering Applications

I'm looking to apply for engineering at university for 2027 and my grades are decent (predicted A*/A for maths, further, chemistry and physics) but I'm unsure what extras i need to make my application stand out. I'm mainly aiming for the Mechanical and nuclear engineering degree at Imperial, which I know is really competitive but I'm unsure of how many extracurriculars you really need to secure a place.

To be honest you don’t really need extracurricular activities for engineering. The most important thing is strong academics will keep your options open.

If you want teaching yourself a script based modeling language such as Python would help, perhaps even try and make up an engineering problem to solve in the script.

You need math and physics if you want to do mechanical or any type of engineering because those subjects you will focus more on university
