Hi There,
I just wanted to come on and share some of my experiences of the Summer University. I have been fortunate enough to work as a Student Advocate at the Summer University for the last 3 years, and before that I actually attended the Summer University as a student.

It is a great opportunity for students to come along and experience life as a university student for three days and it is a great mix between academic and social life. Here is a small breakdown:

Wednesday- Social activities- here is where you will get to meet everyone, there are games and activities, you will check into your flat in the student accommodation and meet your flatmates. There is usually a scavenger hunt, an evening meal and a quiz in the evening.

Thursday- Academic sessions- here you will see what it is like for students studying at university. You will have a series of lectures, workshops and seminars and a small project to complete during the day. The academic sessions usually end around 3/4pm and then there is a wellbeing hour, where students can do some sports, some craft or just go into the city. In the evening there is an evening meal and activities like bowling, go carting, mini golf, etc.

Friday- The final day of the residential, the academic staff will lead a closing session, summarising your work and what you have learnt. Then there are celebration events where you will graduate from the Summer University with a certificate, cap and gown. There is a short film of the three days, photo booths and lots of Pizza.

The Summer University is a great three day event where you will meet life long friends and have unforgettable experiences.
