What Love Island reveals about power and gender

How does a reality TV show shape ideas about love, attraction and relationships? In this webinar, staff and students from Liverpool John Moores University explore Love Island through a sociological lens.

You’ll examine body image, ‘pretty privilege’, gender performance and power in relationships, and see how sociology helps uncover the often invisible norms shaping everyday life. It’s a great way to get a feel for sociology at university level and how it applies to familiar media.

When: Thursday 12 February
Time: 16:30 (UK time)
Duration: 45 minutes
