Uni helppp

Hi guys, im currently a year 12 student studying chem bio and psych. During my gcses i didnt do to well to say the least.... i got all 5 and 2 6s in chem and bio. I had things going on that really imapcted my results and i have an autistic non-verbal younger btrother who i help take of. but cant go back now. But im trying my hardest in my alevels tho. Ive always wanted to medicine since i can remeber (classic) but looking at my gcses reuslts i dont think i have high hopes. so ive recently been looking at other options ive seen DHT but my heart is still set on medicine. I can fit into any unis contextual offer. Does anyone know which unis are my best option to getting into for med possbily near manchester. and if anyone does DHT how is it and whats the pay like after grad. Tbh ( the whole NHS) but everything in the news talking about doc are in shambles. (if anyone has any tips, notes, or anything that can help me in my Alevels It will be MUCHH appreciated_ xxx

I’m gonna be honest , Alevels matter more than GCSES, but make sure the university you are trying to apply to doesn’t have specific gcse requirements, as for example, some of them may want a 6 in maths , so I’d probably avoid those, and if you truly want to do medicine and are applicable for contextual offers then maybe look into gateway options, I can’t really give much help but my twin sister has applied for the gateway into medicine for Bristol uni, Leeds uni, an Leicester uni, and Nottingham uni, her ucat wasn’t the best it was around 1820 I believe and band 2 , and her alevel predicteds are ABC , if you think you alevel grades are going to be impacted a lot then I suggest gateway as an option! She’s recieved 3 interviews (Bristol, Leicester, and Leeds) and got an offer from Leeds a week ago! (Still waiting to hear from the other two) and the grade requirements for gateway was BBC! I hope this helps a little

OMGG THATS AMAZING!! what were her GCSE’s btw and any chance that I can possibly contact her to just ask her for tips etc. if not no worries x. Honestly I’ve sen 2 3 unis that I meet the minimum entry requirement but am scared I won’t get it cuz others will have higher GCSEs but will try to explain them my situation if I get to the interview stage. 🤞🤞🫩🫩

For the main GCSE subjects she got a 7 in maths, I’m pretty sure 6s in both English maybe a 7 in one of them I’m not 100% sure , chem was also a 7 , biology was an 8 and physics was a 6, her only 9 was in art however, but genuinely if the university has specific gcse requirements and you meet them then I can assure you it’s fine, they’re lenient with contextual applicants! She doesn’t really have tips for the ucat because she just did random stuff and honestly hoped for the best 😭, but what tips were you interested in asking about?
