Bayes vs Northeastern London

Hi! I’ve been accepted to both Bayes Business School and Northeastern University London for business. I'm torn between the two. Northeastern looks like a great uni, but I’m a bit worried it might be quite small and mostly filled with US students doing a year or a semester abroad. I’m concerned that could make it harder to build long-term friendships. Any thoughts on this would be really appreciated! I'm an international student btw. Thanks!

Hi! Congratulations on both of your offers, that’s a great problem to have!

As a Bayes Representative, I can only speak to the Bayes experience, but I’m happy to share what you can expect and why so many international students choose it.

As a current Bayes international student myself, it really does feel like a dedicated business community with students from all over the world. You’re constantly collaborating with people in class, through coursework, at events, and in clubs and societies. Bayes has a strong induction process too, which makes it much easier to meet people early on, settle in quickly, and start building your network from day one. Here's some info on the clubs.

Academically and reputation-wise, Bayes is also very strong. It’s one of the few business schools with the Triple Crown Accreditation (AACSB, AMBA, EQUIS), and it appears frequently in the Financial Times rankings, which can be helpful if you’re thinking about long-term brand and employability. More info here.

Careers support is another big plus. The careers team offers a lot of practical help like mock interviews, CV and cover letter feedback, career consultations, networking events, and skills workshops. Being right in Central London also adds to the experience, since you’re in the middle of the city’s business environment and can take advantage of events and opportunities around you.

If you’re looking for a very “business school” environment where your cohort becomes your day-to-day community, and where employer links and recruiting support are built into the experience, then Bayes will likely be a great fit.

I’d also recommend browsing Bayes Business School's website to get a fuller picture of the programme and student experience.

Hope this helps, and best of luck with your choice. You’re in a great position!
