Hi ! I’m Molly and I'm currently in my third year of my paramedic science degree. The course is a mixture of placement, lectures, practical sessions, and self-directed learning time. I've had a range of interesting placements so far, including care home placement, many ambulance placements, and a GP placement coming up soon.I wanted to study this course as I had wanted to be a paramedic for many years, and the university route seemed best suited to me. As I was just out of college and not ready to face getting a full-time job yet 😆.My favorite thing about the course is definitely the ambulance placements ! It feels like a taste of what’s to come when I graduate. No two days are the same and you learn something new every day. Although, the night shifts never seem to get any easier 🤣. What made you choose paramedic science?

I knew i’d always wanted to go into healthcare because i wanted a meaningful career. I was originally thinking about medicine but knew that i wouldn’t enjoy being in a hospital all day. I liked the freedom of being a paramedic, being out and about all day, and having the opportunity to meet and treat a wide range of patients with a variety of conditions in the community .
I didn’t really consider the apprenticeship route, mostly because i wasn’t aware of it, but both route seem to have their benefits.
