Honestly, going to China and doing an immersion program was the biggest game-changer for me. A full immersion program is intense and great if you have the time/ money, but for most people, balancing structured study + real conversations works best.

Programs like GoAbroadChina are cool and super immersive, but not everyone has the funds or flexibility. Even small daily habits—listening to Chinese podcasts, labeling stuff in your house, talking to language partners—can add up fast if you stick with it.
