LAE Stratford Predicted grades and interview

Hello all, I wanted to ask if LAES does interviews or not? I don’t really see it on the website if they do, but I see it on public forums though I’m not sure if it’s Tottenham only.

Furthermore, if it’s not too much of a hassle, I’d like to ask whether a point average 7.75 predicted is enough? My school really fked me over with the predicted, honestly my English teacher gave me two 8s instead of a 9 because I got one off a 9 in the mock, and my history and CS predicted went down because my teachers were too lazy to mark up a grade (they got it wrong), AS WELL AS MY RS TEACHER who should’ve given me a 9 ibsr.

- Predicted grades:

Maths - 8 (but I think my maths teacher might’ve dropped it I honestly don’t know atp)
CS - 7
English - 8 for both
Triple Science - All 8s
RS - 8 I think, have to check that after
History - 7

So in total it’s 888888877

But I’m not too bothered because I’m actually gna start revising because I was being extremely lazy and just doing it off memory

So I’d like to ask if I have a chance to go to LAES, and also what to expect in the interview

And also if it’s possible ask how the actual sixth form is (like, the campus, the people, environment, schedule etc)

MB if it’s the wrong forum asw

Hey, i applied for sep 2024 entry, so im in y13, i had 9988888877 predicted and didn't get in, however it was really competitive that year 🙂 LAE stratford didn't do an interview for me but LAE tottenham did invite me to an interview!! I have a friend in Y13 who goes and she really loves it there campus wise its close to the shopping centre so it seems a plus, and LAE stratford students get looooads of extracurricular opportunities. I'm not sure about tottenham tho!!

To be frank i think LAE pushes for really top grades and honestly LAE tottenham is still really good for a sixth form - I woulden't worry what sixth form/college u go to though, i feel like for A levels having the motivation/drive will mainly help you get the grades u wanna get, so dont worry too much about getting in, just apply and see how it goes!!

Heyy, I didn't go but a few of my friends did, basically we were told to bring an item, i just pulled up my emails and it said this - ' You will have the opportunity to talk to your interviewer about an item that you choose to bring that you are proud of. Try to give a full explanation. Why is it important to you and why are you proud of it? We are looking for passion in what you say and this item can be absolutely anything! ' -> i didn't go but apparently it was very relaxed so dont worry and good luck!!!

Hello I'm a current yr12 at LAES and no, we didn't have to do an interview to get an offer. They base it pretty much purely off of predicted grades. I'd suggest you see if you can get those predicted grades boosted a bit to give you more of a chance of getting accepted. It's getting more and more competitive each year

Alright, thanks! I managed to get them boosted to a 988888877, do you think that might be enough?

I’d also like to ask how you’re finding the campus, school and teachers.

By the way, I’m doing humanities for all of my subjects, not sure if that’ll make it easier to get in.

Don't go there (I'm in yr 11) so I might be wrong, pretty sure the campus is changing next September? Not far, just maybe 2 mins away I think. Take that with a pinch of salt

ive applied there too but the new campus is definitely a plus. the one theyre in rn is a roughly remodelled office building so theyve been really capped. the new campus is much bigger and accomodates more students

I'm not the original person that you replied to but I am also a current year 12 at LAES. The campus is all right in terms of location lots of options for break and lunch and easy to travel to but it is a bit cramped so I'm quite excited for our new building in September.
School's pretty great at least my experience so far teachers are quite kind and supportive, especially with super curriculars (though there are a few that are a bit...). They send out a supercurricular bulletin in every week with lots of new opportunities. The people in my cohort are really nice we're but it does depend on who you surround yourself with, as going to a school full of high achievers, you're definitely going to run into some big headed people.
They also give a lot of benefits for wider participation students.
The school is mainly STEM, so you probably won't have to have the highest predicted grades to get in for humanities though I will say each year is getting more competitive than the last and a lot of my peers that do Humanities did well in all of their GCSEs (9/8 throughout).

yeah just on the last point i got 9998887766 and thats still the lowest and second lowest in my econ and philosophy classes respectively so the benchmark is still pretty high for humanities subjects, everyone else got mainly all 9s and 8s with a few 7s
