Year 13 revision Advice please

I am currently freaking out that I have left making revision material too late considering theres only this month, March and April left till A levels start which isn’t long. For context I do History, Business and Media so fairly content heavy/ essay based subjects. I managed to create all of my Business flashcards, now I am starting on media and I have not gotten round to make History ones. I do have pre-existing History Quizlet flashcards from other creators but I feel like I need to make my own so that the knowledge goes in. I am aiming for AAA, so if anyone has any advice on how to structure revision for the next 3 months, and wether Quizlet is useful for remembering lots of information please give me any advice. My plan is to finish all of my flashcards by the end of February, revise them religiously and then do loads of exam papers till May, would this be ok? Also - how much revision should I be doing per day in order to achieve A’s in my A levels. I would like to think that I do a fair amount however I still feel like I’m not going to be able to remember all 3 of A levels subject’s content in 3 months considering how much there is to cover.

Hi @Anonymous

Firstly, I would say try to reassure yourself that there is still time to revise! The most important thing now is that you plan effective revision to make the most of the time that you have got from now till your exams.

It is important to choose the content learning revision method that works for you. If that is flashcards, then that is a good way to spend your time making and going through them. However, there are also other methods that you could use that might be slightly quicker. For example, I used to find that making and rewriting mindmaps was an effective way for me to learn.

I would recommend starting to practice answering exam questions as soon as possible as this will build your subject knowledge and improve your exam technique. As your subjects are quite essay based, you might find it helpful to spend time focusing on creating essay plans as again this will build your subject knowledge and prepare you to answer the longer questions in your exams.

In terms of how much time to spend revising, that is up to you. It might be helpful to make a revision plan for when you are going to revise each thing and how you are going to fit that in around any other commitments you have. I never had a set amount of time that I revised for each day as it depended on what else I needed to do and how motivated I was feeling.

Hope that helps!
