Hey 👋

I'm currently completing an apprenticeship (I get to stay in my own role) and the qualification outcome in a Level 5 Chartered Management Institute Diploma in Leadership & Management. I'm studying part time online which is new to me.

I didn't realise how many types of apprenticeships existed and that they can also be offered once you're in a role (instead of just applying to an apprenticeship which puts you in a job/role).

The apprenticeship is fun, I feel like I learn a lot from others on the programme when we have online workshops which is the most interesting part.

Working and studying isn't easy and balancing the two can be a struggle sometimes but it helps that your company has to give you a certain amount of time off the job to complete work & assignments.

Anyway, I know it's not a typical apprenticeship I’m doing but happy to answer any questions if anyone wants to know more about the type of apprenticeship I'm on.

Balancing work, study and life on an apprenticeship can feel like a juggling act, but a few things have really helped me stay on top of everything:

1. Time blocking in my work calendar
I split my week into clear blocks: work hours, study hours, and personal time(which is mostly the gym and reading). I treating study time like an actual appointment/meeting and i find it makes a big difference. Even just 1–2 focused hours a week adds up.

2. Communicate early
If work is getting extra busy or I’ve got a big deadline coming up, I give my manager a heads up. She's very supportive but that's because I’m being proactive. It stops things piling up and becoming stressful last minute.

3. Break study tasks into smaller chunks
Instead of write assignment, I break it into research plan first draft edit. It feels more doable and keeps me motivated.

4. Protect time for yourself
This is the thing people forget the most I think. If I don’t schedule time for my hobbies, everything else slips. It's all about balance and you can protect your stress levels/mental health by making time for self-care.

That's great! It's definitely important to set boundaries and plan ahead plus communicate :yep:
