LLB rejection and dealing with doubts

I got Rejected by UCL LLB on 6th of February I applied via UCAS on 5th December. I also applied to Manchester and QMUL & LSE for Law. KCL but for PPL ( swapped LLB to PPL on 16 December ).

The reason stated for the rejection was my LNAT which “wasn’t strong enough compared to other candidates” I have no idea what I got and won’t find out till a week from now since they release scores Mid February.

I just have fear that I won’t get any offers I have OCD so like a lot of my doubts comes from that but now I am trying so hard not to withdraw all my choices cause of this one rejection but I won’t, just have thoughts about it.

My stats are :
LNAT ??/42
GCSEs ( 2022 ) 98877777 + L2D & L2M
A levels ( 2025 ) A*AA in Law , Psychology & Politics
I did resit year 12 which I hope doesn’t negatively impacts my application I put my AS levels for context…
AS levels ( 2023 ) Biology , Chemistry, Mathematics BCD

I just want to know how people deal with such doubts and how to face rejection more positively plus any other options if I do get all rejections…

UCL and LSE LLBs are heavily oversubscribed so they are extremely picky. A significant proportion of high achievers were rejected. Getting a rejection is absolutely nothing ti be ashamed of.

You have good predicted grades that meet the requirements of Manchester and Queen Mary, they are very law schools. You will have high chances of getting offers. Good luck.

Thanks, ucas extra if I don’t get in anywhere, that’s what I have to do although there’s some other universities that I could’ve applied to that may show up then but I am hopeful for Manchester as it’s my first choice and QMUL is my third.

For KCL (2nd choice cause my sister is going there but also I like it a lot) , I did fill in a mitigating circumstances form as I did resit year 12 due to that but it still doesn’t guarantee them considering my application kinda just set myself up for rejection.

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear this is worrying you.

Firstly, you have amazing predicted grades, so well done!

Secondly, when applying to very competitive universities, they will be more picky on these scores. It does not necessarily meant your LNAT score are low. Also remember, universities can make offers right up until the deadline, so do not worry if others get their offers before you.

If this is worrying you, it may be worth making a plan b. This could be deciding which universities you may want to apply to through clearing if necessary. Additionally, remember there are lots of amazing universities that do not require the LNAT. I have a friend in her last year at UOB studying law (no LNAT) and the opportunities she has had is amazing. Another example is my university, the University of Lancashire, does not require the LNAT either. Many universities are phasing it out.

Overall, try not to worry, you will likely get an offer with those grades and if not, there is always an alternative.

I hope this helps, please feel free to ask me any questions,
-Sophia (University of Lancashire)
