Not eligible for Student Finance – any grants or charities?

I’m not eligible for Student Finance England because of a temporary absence from the UK. After finishing college I stayed in the UK for about 5 months looking for work but couldn’t find a job, so I went abroad for a while.

Now I’m planning to study and I don’t qualify for SFE. I’m really worried about funding and wanted to ask if anyone knows about any charities, foundations, grants, bursaries, or other financial help available for students in this situation?

Any advice or personal experiences would really help

Thank you

It'll be very tough, but it is not completely out of the question. I assume you're not eligible for both the tuition fee and the maintenance loan?

Sometimes the NHS LSF do make exceptions depending on your circumstances so it would be worth an email to them. Otherwise, consider applying for a job as a HCA in a hospital and then a nursing degree apprenticeship that your employer would pay for.
