Nursing interview at university of Edinburgh

Does anyone have any tips for the nursing interview at university of Edinburgh or know what it’s going to be like as it is 7 hours and part if it is in a hospital so I’m curious to what that’s about. I’ve already had my Glasgow interview and got an offer for it but Edinburgh is my top choice so any advice or info would be greatly appreciated,,,

Hi!

I am not quite familiar with such hospital interviews for nursing, but definitely take a look at the 6 C’s and the NMC code as they’re both a fundamental part of nursing. General advice for hospital settings is to mentally and physically prepare yourself (there might be a lot of standing up) and be proactive😊.
All the best

Well done for getting a interview at Edinburgh university for nursing.

It's actually based normally in the university building itself ( nothing held in hospital).
You'll know what to expect roughly from the Glasgow university interview you already had and wow got a offer to study there.

Base your Edinburgh university interview on similar questions as your Glasgow university interview okay but bear in mind that they won't necessarily give you the same questions.

Look at the NMC code of practice
6 C's of nursing
Why you want to be a nurse and why chose Edinburgh university to study at
Another thing to think about is how would you cope with stress whilst you were at work and still try to do your work - what would you do....??
How would you cope with a bereavement especially if you was looking after that particular person and stay professional as a nurse ( training for this should be part of your nursing studies).
NHS vote values and How are things currently in the NHS especially in the local areas you stay

Key thing is study and research about nursing.

Is Edinburgh university nursing course a four year course or is it 3 years....??

Good luck 🤞 🤞 🤞

Okay thank you so much for all the advice it’s a 4 year course and I asked my year head about the hospital and he said it’s most likely a tour and to discuss placements and they will provide taxis from the uni to the hospital and back

Hi
Apologies for the late response xx

Yeah I thought Edinburgh university was a 4 year course but couldn't remember offhand.
I think each university is different when it comes to interviews and most don't give you a tour of hospital, I think it's a good idea if students who are offered a place for nursing they perhaps should be given a tour of one of the hospitals you'll be working in throughout your coursework to let you see what's it like and it could ease nerves.
