Student holidays for nursing course

Im hoping to start leeds university in September 2026 to study childrens nursing and was wondering if anyone knows how their holidays work such as if they stick with traditional holidays eg easter, christmas etc or not?

Yes, you'll get Christmas and Easter off, however if all other degrees get 3 weeks off for these then nursing students will typically only get 2 weeks.
Email the university department and ask for an example of the current timetable - this will give you an idea of roughly where placements and holidays fall in addition to how long for.

Hi,

Universities usually do follow the traditional term holidays like Christmas and Easter. You can find the academic calendar on the university website, which will show term dates and give you a general idea of how the year is set out.

As mentioned my Emily_B, it is likely that your timetable will differ a little from the standard one posted on the uni website so do contact the nursing department. It can vary a lot between unis.

Hello,

Holidays for nursing is different from the general holidays. We do get a Christmas, easter and summer holidays but they’re shorter than other courses.
