Can I get rejected for having higher grades

My college didn't let me to apply the unis i wanted. So my tutor sent me a list of the unis i can apply to orherwise the won't send my application. And I ended up with applying to liverpool maths foundation year which is CDD and my predicted grades are ABC for maths further maths and computer science and got an A for home language. I am kinda scared because I was planning to put it as my firm choice because other unis I applied to are essex and so on. Can I get rejected for appling with higher grades? Bro I fckn hate this college
If anyone else’s college pulls this monkey business, you can just swap all the choices after they’ve submitted it on your behalf. You just have to do it within 14 days of getting your welcome email from UCAS.

Going back to the original question, it’s unlikely they’d reject you purely for being predicted too high, but if you applied for a FY then you might get an offer for the main course instead.

Hi,

As mentioned above, you’re usually able to adjust your choices through UCAS within 14 days of receiving your welcome email. You can substitute a choice for a different one, but each choice can only be substituted once.

It’s unlikely that a university would decline you for having higher predicted grades. If you’re concerned, you could also contact admissions to explain your situation, as most are understanding if your grades are better but still meet entry requirements.

Hope this helps,

I get why you’re stressed it’s really frustrating when a college pushes you into applying to courses you didn’t originally choose. But try not to panic about your predicted grades. Universities won’t reject you just because your predicted grades are higher than the course requirements. If anything, it shows you’re capable and prepared for the course.
A few things to keep in mind:

Foundation years are designed to help students catch up and prepare for the full degree. It’s not a “lesser” option a lot of people use them successfully to get onto their degree course.

Even if the course you applied for (Liverpool Maths foundation) has lower entry requirements than your predicted grades, you still have the chance to excel once you start.

Firm and insurance choices: If Liverpool ends up being your firm and Essex (or other unis) your insurance, you’re not locked into a bad outcome you’ll still have options when results come out.

It’s normal to be annoyed with your college you’re allowed to feel that. But right now, focus on:

1.

Doing your best in your A-Levels that’s what will actually matter when it comes to offers and moving forward.

2.

Researching alternatives if you end up with great results, you could sometimes transfer or apply to other universities after the foundation year, depending on policies.

3.

Making the most of your application include personal statements, references, and any extra experience that can show you’re motivated and ready.

Basically: higher predicted grades won’t hurt you, and the foundation year isn’t the end of the road. It’s just one step towards your degree. Focus on what you can control your grades and your preparation and you’ll still have solid options.

Hi,
Alternatively, if you are not happy with the course you have chosen come results day, you can apply through clearing for a different one. You may be able to find a course more appropriate to your grades and preferences!
Please do let me know if you have any more questions.
Jack.

why on earth is your uni intervening in what and where you can and cannot apply to, that's your choice!! it would be best if you applied independently atp. why are they dictating your options. don't think you need foundation year unless your grades are below the requirement. this is what liverpool says;
ABB
including Mathematics A level grade A.
Applicants with the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) are eligible for a reduction in grade requirements. For this course, the offer is ABC from A levels, with A in the EPQ.

sooo ultimately you should be the one deciding what you should do as you are the only one who knows what grades you're likely to get. good luck!!
