University of Liverpool Pharmacy Interviews

Hi, has anyone else received an invitation to interview next week? Just curious what kind of questions I’m meant to expect/prepare for?

Hi there 😊,

Although I have not done a Uni of Liverpool interview, I have some other pharmacy interviews so I can advise.

So on the University of Liverpool website, it lists the Standards of Pharmacy Professional so have a look at that on the GPhC website. Make sure you're able to give some real life examples of how you have demonstrated these examples.

With majority of pharmacy interview, be sure to have some sort of answer for "why pharmacy", "why at Liverpool", "why not x instead" etc. Have a look on The Student Room chats which have an interview prep which is a great summary of things to have a look at.

I would also say have fun and be yourself at the interview. The interviewers aren't there to trick you but to assess you as an individual and looking at your values and qualities.

Best of luck for your interview!

Hi. I applied to Uni of Liverpool too, I haven't received an invitation yet though. I was just wondering when did you apply and when did you receive the invitation?

I sent my UCAS around the end of October and received the invitation in the first week of February.

Thank you. I've just received an invitation for an interview too on the 4th March. Idk if you saw but in the email they said what type of questions to expect like motivation for wanting to study pharmacy, situational judgement and a numeracy check. If you have done any other interviews for Pharmacy, these type of questions are very similar. Also, it's probably good to know the 9 standards for Pharmacy too.

Yeah I’ve just done my interview there today, overall it was good they were very friendly, one of the questions and one of the calculation questions I did find a bit hard but definitely if you go over the 9 standards and the usual pharmacy interview questions you should be fine

What sort of numeracy questions would you advise going over? Also, are the calculations difficult? My mental maths isn’t great aha.

simple ones such as; prescribed a certain amount of a medication, how long will it last etc and certain amount of a substance needed to make up a medication, how much of a substance will you need. It will just depend on the numbers they give you but it’s simple numbers you’ll be able to do in your head, you’re also allowed to write down your thinking and have 3 minutes for each question if you need the time. One I found hard was diluting solutions and concentrations
