Still waiting for Law offers from Durham, Warwick and Bristol.......

Applied in late November and sat LNAT on 2nd December. Received two offers (Birmingham and Liverpool) before xmas but still waiting for the above. Is this normal? Have been sent an email from Jindal (confirming over 20 in LNAT), predicted A*A*A*A in Hist, Pol, Soc and Welsh Bac respectively plus sitting on AAA at AS level. Personal statement is, in my opinion, strong-ish with experience of shadowing barristers, leading roles at Model UN events etc. Naively thought I would have heard back by now. Reading some of the threads on here it seems lots of people applying/sitting LNAT later have already received offers. Timelines of offers seem completely arbitrary but is there a secret rationale for this I am unaware of?!
Completely normal.

Hi there!

I completely understand how scary and frustrating it can be waiting to hear back. Offers from Durham will be coming through up until May time, so don't worry about waiting for a response - when I applied, I didn't get an offer until the middle of March, despite hearing about others who had.

Durham has a holistic process in considering applications, hence why it can take a while, especially in busier periods like now - the admissions team is working hard to ensure all applications are considered fairly and thoroughly. By no means does this suggest you're any less likely to receive an offer, simply just that response times might be a bit delayed. 😊

I hope you hear back soon!

Received a rejection from Durham yesterday! Said it was due to 'high level of competition' but that doesn't provide me with any meaningful feedback, specifically on my application. Still waiting for Bristol and Warwick but I fear they will say the same thing!

Hello,

I'm sorry to hear that. 🙁 It's frustrating not to get any feedback also, I completely understand that.

How are you feeling about your offers from Birmingham and Liverpool? It might be a nice idea to look more into the Universities you've heard from, while you wait for Bristol and Warwick to reply - maybe check out their accommodation/socieites to get excited about the opportunities they could bring. 🙂

Try not to worry while you wait for the other responses, you can't be sure of anything until they come through. I wish you the best of luck!

I think it’ll be Monday 16th. Last year it was Monday 17th so that’s what I’m going off of

They came out a couple hours ago. What a coincidence lol😅

Hi!
I can’t say much on admissions unfortunately as a student ambassador, but definitely understand the stress of waiting! I'm currently in my final year at Warwick so happy to answer any questions you might have about the university in the meantime.

Best wishes,
Jasmine (Student Ambassador)

For Warwick Law, it’s completely normal to still be waiting. They’re known for sending offers quite late, especially for competitive courses like Law.

With your predicted grades and LNAT, you’re definitely in a strong position. Warwick looks at applications carefully, so a delay doesn’t mean anything negative.

A lot of strong applicants hear back later in the cycle, so I wouldn’t worry just because you haven’t heard yet.

Thank you, I received an offer from Warwick which I am going to firm. Is there much to do on campus - events, nightlife, arts/cultural etc? Also, I only looked at Cryfield Townhouses and Bluebell on the Open Day so looking for some advice on accommodation. Thanks 🙏

Hi, congrats on your offer!

Being a campus uni, I’d definitely say there’s lots to do at Warwick - there’s 250+ societies covering all kinds of interests, and many events are held on campus making them easy to get to. In my experience, with everyone living fairly close by in first year, it’s also very easy to just meet other students compared to being in a city. As for arts/cultural events, there’s a range of cultural societies hosting things like potlucks, movie nights, sports events, club nights etc, and the Warwick Arts Centre has a cinema, art gallery, and various performances/shows throughout the week. The nightlife may be a bit less limited compared to being in a big city, but there’s still clubs/bars that many students go to in the nearby Coventry, Leamington, Birmingham, and even on campus in the SU. The campus as a whole is quite self-contained so in first year, I spent the majority of my time in and around campus with occasional trips to Coventry or Leamington to go out with friends or go shopping.

Cryfield Townhouses and Bluebell are two of the nicer and more expensive accommodations, both have good facilities and are very central. Let me know if you any preferences around accom e.g. budget, location, en-suite/shared bathroom, number of people to share a kitchen with etc and I can suggest some more specific options!

Best wishes,
