Hi, I know you said the childcare grant is a no, but maybe you could be eligible for it! How old are you? And are you married to your partner?
I am starting a midwifery degree in September and I was so worried about childcare as well. When i asked student finances they said that I will be eligible for it and wont need to include my partners income as we are not married and im under 25 (they will assess it based on my income only) maybe the same situation applies to you?
From what Ive read on this forum most nursing and midwifery students who have children rely mostly on friends and family, BUT it is durable to graduate and do well without any support! Is there anyone you can rely on to look after your child for even one day a week to save on childcare?
Did you talk to the student services at your uni? They should be able to look into what you can be eligible for and check if there is any support available. Also, some unis either have a nursery on campus or partner with nearby nurseries. If your uni is one of them, they could offer your child a discounted place there. I am not sure what other support there is when it comes to childcare, but I hope someone who has more knowledge in this area will be able to comment and advise you!!!! ☺️
