Congratulations! DP means the your application was approved by the department you applied to. Your application now goes through the POA where they check for fraud and then to the colleges, but basically, you are guaranteed a spot. you can read more about this process on the cambridge website or on the 2026 postgrad cambridge applications thread:

The official information can be found here: https://www.postgraduate.study.cam.ac.uk/apply/after/how-assess-application. Summarizing: it takes around 10 working days or more depending on traffic at the PAO/whether or not your first/second college preference admits you. It is however also the busiest time of the year for the PAO, and in previous years that meant people had to wait for >10 working days for the PAO to process their documents around this time. I wouldn't worry about it too much, like I said, from this point on you're guaranteed a spot (unless you committed fraud, which I assume you didn't lol). For questions like this you can also look at the faq's on the official websites of cambridge/at the thread I linked in my prev response :smile:.

Applied to Ph.d. in Geography here, moved to decision pending February 6th. Glad to know it usually means good news. - let me know in this thread when you hear back from them! crossing my fingers for you
