UAL fashion marketing

Is anyone a bit indecisive about choosing UAL for fashion marketing? So far I’ve only gotten two offers (mmu and ual) and I genuinely don’t know which uni I’d end up choosing. I’ve heard UAL is quite cliquey or that it’s hard to get that student experience bc London is so spread out. London is also so expensive so I rlly don’t know what to do. I know ual is widely known in the fashion industry and that it’d be more advantageous when applying for post grad jobs, but idk if ual is for me. Anyone that has been there/ is planning to go there, any advice? Thank you

I’m in this dilemma too wondering about the student experience. My other main choice is Leeds I’m really stuck between my offers
Hey!

First of all, congratulations on your offers! If you're looking to understand a bit more about each university, applicant Visit Days are a great place to start. I can't speak for other institutions, but our visit days are more subject specific than open days, and give you a chance to speak to the tutors more, and experience how your chosen subject is actually taught. You'll also be able to speak to members of the finance teams and current students to get a better idea of the cost of living, as well as wider student life.

You might also find chatting to current students helpful. Many universities have a platform where you can start discussions with students who are on the course you're hoping to study. Our platform, Unibuddy, has quite a few Fashion students who you can speak to here: https://www.mmu.ac.uk/chat-with-us-unibuddy.

I hope this has been a good starting point. I've given you examples from us here at Manchester Metropolitan, but I would always advise you access all of the resources for the other universities you have offers for too! Also, feel free to take your time. You have a couple of months still until you need to make decisions on your offers, so visit as many institutions as you can before making your choice!

Best of luck with your offers! 🙂
