Meet all of Warwick MORSE reqs except TMUA, should I still apply?

My friend is applying this year with achieved A-level and TMUA grades. He got A* in Maths and A in FM + econ. He got 4.1 in his TMUA. He has a lot of strong contextual information (long-term carer). He is worried that he doesn't stand a strong chance as he hasn't met the TMUA score requirement. Has anyone managed to get an offer for MORSE with a similar portfolio?
He has currently sent in an application for econ but really likes the MORSE course and is considering switching, but wants to make sure he has a good chance of getting an offer. Any opinions?

is he sure he meets the other requirements for a contextual offer? Did he get at least a grade 2 in STEP?

He hasn't done the STEP as only one of the exams was a requirement.

Can I ask what your Alevel grades and TMUA/STEP scores were?

Hmm but your IB score was really high so I'm guessing they didn't consider the TMUA because of it... do you know anyone else who got an offer and possibly what grades they applied with?

Honestly, a 4.1 in TMUA for MORSE is a bit on the lower side, but it’s not automatically game over. Warwick usually says most offers go to higher scores, but it’s not always a strict cut off.

Your friend’s A* in Maths and A in FM are strong, and contextual factors like being a long-term carer do get taken seriously. Warwick does say they look at the whole profile, not just one number.

MORSE is competitive though, so it wouldn’t be a “safe” switch. It feels more like a calculated risk rather than a guaranteed no or yes.

If he really prefers MORSE over Econ, it might still be worth going for it, but he should probably be realistic that it could go either way

I got a 6 on TMUA and previously achieved A* in math but only got an A in FM (one mark off A*😭 and missed cambridge) and As in chem and physics, i also qualified for BMOs in UKMT, it says on the site that math stats and MORSE don’t need both A* if you get above a 5 in TMUA but it just doesn’t seem like I’d be guaranteed a spot as my TMUA doesn’t feel impressive because i remember it was 6.5 required before, i still haven’t recieved an offer for either yet and am worried i won’t make the cut.

Got MORSE offer in early Feb with A* in Maths, FM and Econ predicted and conditional offer given for A*A* in maths, FM and A in economics without TMUA.

TMUA was a terrible score 3.1, Took it in October.
If TMuA was above 5.0 then the offer would have been A*AA, this is also mentioned in the conditional Offer.

So in my case, Warwick has give me offer without considering my TMUA as it is not mandatory.
