Criminology and Sociology work experience.

Hey,
I am in year 12 and currently studying Criminology, Sociology and Spanish. However, I've been struggling to find work experiences on criminology and sociology. Does anybody know about any work experiences with those subjects taking place in Surrey? I am based close in London, so any work experience in those areas are also fine.

Thank you x

I would suggest actively looking for jobs on LinkedIn, which can really help. If you can optimize your LinkedIn profile, recruiters can find you and reach out to you as well if you focus on finding jobs in London. Network or follow people who worked or studied or are studying in Criminology or Sociology to extract information about your dream role, and prepare a standard Cv to apply is the key to finding jobs. You can also filter the location to find jobs in that particular area as well on LinkedIn. All the best with Job hunting!

Hi. I recommend checking out the virtual work experience programmes offered on Springpod. There may not currently be ones offered surrounding criminology or sociology, but there's likely to be ones for similar fields (law especially, but maybe policing). All of the virtual work experience programmes are free, and I've personally found them quite useful and engaging.

Hey @Luana.23,

Some great suggestions above!

It might be worthwhile speaking to your A-Level Criminology and Sociology teachers as well. They may have a few links to more local firms/businesses that offer relevant work experience through past students. Alternatively, you could also try and find something related to criminology/sociology instead - law-related work experience is quite popular so you may have more luck finding roles there.

Hope you find something soon! 🙂
