How to fund MSc Audiology at QMU?

Hi,

I'm looking into studying Audiology at Queen Margaret University, which is a 2.5 year course and costs £11,710 per academic year. Has anyone completed the masters or is a potential student? If so, how did you fund it?

Even with SASS tuition loan and living cost loan, it won't cover the tuition fees. I've looked into getting a bank loan to cover the rest but part of the eligibility criteria is to be in contracted work and there only seem to be zero hour contracts available to students. I have contacted QMU and their response was previous students funded their studies through savings, familial support or partner support. None of these options have over £23,000 spare.

I've looked into the NHS Fund and audiology doesn't qualify for the grant. There are funded pathways through the NHS and Boots HearingCare, but the NHS are not recruiting for another 18 months and I've already applied for the Boots opportunity and haven't had a response.

Any advice?

I’m so glad to come across your post as I’ve felt similarly! No idea how to do it without a lottery win. I’m hoping to have enough saved by the 2030 intake but I’d have hoped to be working as an audiologist by then. Hopefully you heard back from Boots
