Cant decide between Uni of Exeter or Uni of York for accounting

I've applied for both unis for accountancy, however applied for York with a year of industry and Exeter with a year abroad, Exeter is so much further away from me then York so i don't know if its worth it? is the year abroad program actually good or will i be better off at York?

Hi everlynfowler,

Great to hear about your interest in the University of Exeter. Although I didn't do accountancy, I did do a year abroad as part of my undergraduate degree at Exeter and it was one of my favourite things I did. I spent a year at the University of Texas at Austin. It was an amazing opportunity to take slightly different modules in a new department, and also experience a new culture and travel with the support of a university behind me. I made lifelong friends I'm still in touch with from all over the world and had so many amazing experiences - including road trips to other parts of the US, visiting incredible national parks, music festivals and all sorts of other activities alongside my studies.

It's worth noting that the partner universities for studying abroad will vary depending on which subject you are studying. So the host university options for accountancy might be different to the list I had to choose from when studying zoology.

You might find it useful to chat to current students for your subject at our upcoming offer-holder open days as they'll also be able to share more of their experiences. It is likely that at some of the ambassadors working that open day might have also taken part in year abroad experiences and will be able to share their advice.
