Low ESAT score - any hope for physics at Imperial?)

I got 4.7, 4.6 and 3.4 in maths 1, maths 2 and physics respectively. Average 4.2. Very disappointed after getting consistently around a 6.0 on past papers under exam conditions :frown: I am a home widening participation (contextual) applicant for physics at Imperial. Predicted triple A* in maths further maths and physics, got A* in EPQ and got 10 grade 9s at GCSE. Also an offer holder for physics at UCL. Should I waste my energy on having hope of getting an offer or not? Any help would be appreciated.

I wouldn't count on it. Imperial has a place to check ESAT scores of admitted students if you want to look it up, and your score is not within any lower bound of their dataset.

You can check the imperial website:

https://www.imperial.ac.uk/study/apply/undergraduate/process/admissions-tests/understanding-your-esat-and-tmua-scores/

For 2025 the mean test score for WP was 14.0 so your total 12.7 is a bit low.

However, I am curious about when did you get the offer for UCL?
