I don't know what uni to firm (history of art undergrad)

I applied for history of art undergrad at Courtauld and Edinburgh thinking they would both reject me and I was hoping I could get in at least one. I have now gotten offer from both and I don't know which one I should firm.
Edinburgh has always been my dream uni and I love the city, I also want to experience a proper uni life. However Courtauld is ranked very high and has better opportunities and resources for history of art, but I don't want to be in London. I really do love history of art and I'm sure it is what I want to study. Can I have some advice please.

Do you like the course at Edinburgh? Have a look through the modules and optional modules for all years of the course and think about which you would choose if you went there. If you've been invited to an offer-holder day, do go so that you can chat to staff and students in more detail. You have until May to make your decisions so take your time to consider if Edinburgh offers the best course for you.

Hey @ange1ling,

Both universities have very good repuations for History of Art - as mentioned above, have a look through the compulsory/optional modules in each and see which course best suits your interests. One of the main draws of studying Fine Art and Art History at Kingston for me was its focus on colonialism and its impact on art globally (I loved the anthropophagic movement); if you have a specific niche or time period you're interested in, check whether or not it's covered in any detail.

If you're not keen on living in London, Edinburgh may be better suited to you. If you have the opportunity to attend an Open Day or Offer Holder Day for both I'd recommend it, but if Edinburgh is your dream university and you love the city itself it seems like it would be the better fit.

Hope this helps,
Eve (Kingston Rep).

The Courtauld is obviously the top university in the UK for breadth of course content in History of Art: you will get a far greater choice of modules there than at any other university. And London has a huge range of galleries and museums and a huge world standard art market.
