Life in London on a Student Budget 📚💵 - City St George's Student Perspective

Are you thinking about studying in London? Want to hear from someone who manages the costs from day to day? If so, this thread is for you!

Figuring out how to budget as a student studying in London can feel like a complete mystery until you're doing it, so as someone who has, I wanted to start a discussion to talk about it! 🙂

I'm April, a third year student studying at City St George's University and I've experienced both sides of London living - with my first year in student accommodation and now as a commuter.

London is an incredible place to study, especially at a university like City St George's located in central London, but it does require a bit of strategy when it comes to costs. Travel can often end up being the biggest expense, so things like student Oyster discounts, buses, and travelling off-peak can make a real difference.

Food and social costs can vary too, but there are plenty of affordable spots, free events, and student deals/discounts around!

So what would you want to know about?

weekly budgets

commuting vs accommodation costs

finding cheap eats

or student deals?

Ask me anything - I'm happy to help! 😊
