What exam adjustments can I access if I struggle with reading due to my disability?

If you struggle with reading, you may be allowed adjustments during exams so you are not put at a disadvantage due to your impairment.

These adjustments should match what support you are typically given in the classroom and during class tests.

To encourage independence for students, schools are advised to encourage students to use adjustments like asssistive technology or auxilary aids before recommending extra time or a reader.

A modified paper

A coloured overlay or reading ruler

A reading pen

Permission to read aloud

A computer reader

A reader

Extra time- if you have been formally assessed by your school

Extra time- if you have medical evidence of your impairment
